Notice on Collecting Topics for Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund in 2021

All relevant departments in our university concerned:

In order to ensure a high-standard job in bidding for major projects of the National Social Science Fund in 2021 and listen to the opinions and suggestions of experts and scholars in the social sciences, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences issued theNotice on Soliciting Topics selection for Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund in 2021, and publicly solicited topics for major projects. Now the relevant work of collecting recommended topics is notified as follows:

1. Solicitation content: Focusing on Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the major work arrangements of the Party and the country and the decision-making needs of practical departments, accelerating the construction of discipline system, academic system and discourse system of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, and promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, this topic collection puts forward a number of applied and interdisciplinary topics with important decision-making reference value and practical guiding significance, and a number of basic topics with great academic innovation value and cultural heritage significance from different disciplines and fields.

2. Basic requirements: The formulation of major project topics should adhere to the correct political orientation, with clear research objectives, distinct problem-oriented consciousness, heavy academic weight and strong innovation value, and embody the principle of limited scale and outstanding key points. The written expression of the selected topic should be scientific, rigorous, standard and concise, and generally no subtitle should be added (refer to the major project projects over the years). Topic selection should avoid duplication with established Marxist theoretical research and construction projects, major projects of the National Social Science Fund, various special projects of the National Social Science Fund, major research projects of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education and other major national projects. All the previously provided topics with the same or similar contents, as well as the 2021 major topics of philosophy and social science research of the Ministry of Education, the major topics of pedagogy of the National Social Science Fund, and the bidding topics of major projects of art of the National Social Science Fund submitted to the Social Science Division are not recommended.

3. Generation and submission of selected topics: All units are requested to combine their own research advantages and characteristics, organize experts and scholars to fully demonstrate and refine, and ensure the scientific and normative nature of the topic selection, and submit it to the Social Science Department after being sorted by the academic committees of all units. Encourage well-known experts and scholars to rich previous achievements and personal academic creativity to propose significant and valuable topics for major projects based on their long-term academic accumulation. Persons in charge of all kinds of major projects that have been completed, major project cultivation projects in schools, free exploration programs for academic masters, and training programs for young academic leaders should actively participate in this topic selection and application. All kinds of topics must be filled in theRecommendation Form for Major Projects of National Social Science Fund(Annex 1), which contains about 3,000 words of written explanations, focusing on the academic basis, background, research status, research content and main ideas of the recommended topics.

4. Selection and adoption of selected topics: Only l2 quotas in our school are available. The Social Science Division will organize experts and scholars to review the collected subject selections, and selectively submit them to the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences according to the quota availability. The National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences will organize experts and scholars in related fields to make anonymous comments on the collected topics, and based on the recommendation of experts' votes, to select some topics to be included in the bidding scope of major projects in 2021. All the recommenders and recommenders who are officially listed in the bidding scope promise to agree to open bidding and fair competition for the proposed topic, and there is no intellectual property dispute.

5. Submission arrangements. All units are requested to submit one paper version and one electronic version of theRecommendation Form,Summary Form(with official seal of the unit) andAcademic Committee Recommendation Form(signed by the director of the academic Committee and with official seal of the unit) to the Social Science Department before February 19, 2021. Before March 2, the reviewers of Social Science Department and submit the recommenders of selected topics will log into the National Social Science Office website to submit the topics.
