Seminar of undergraduate head teachers in School of Economics

In order to implement the spirit of the document ‘Trial Measures for the construction of undergraduate head teachers in Jilin University’, constantly strengthen the construction of undergraduate head teachers in the school of economics, and continuously improve the quality of students' training, the school of economics held a meeting of undergraduate head teachers in Dongrong A804 on November 3, 2020, which included Secretary of the Party committee--Professor Mi Chen, President of the school--Professor Xiao Li, deputy secretary of the Party committee--Mr Zhao Yong, and more than 20 students undergraduate head teachers attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Zhao. Mr. Zhao first interpreted the trial methods of undergraduate head teachers, reported the basic situation of the college's student work, and then put forward suggestions on the construction of undergraduate head teachers from the student level and the teacher level. He hoped that the head teachers would help to strengthen the ideological and political education of college students, strengthen the class construction, the style of study and the moral education. The student work team will also strengthen cooperation with front-line teachers. In the second part of the meeting, Secretary Chen delivered a speech on paying attention to the law of teaching development, the one child issue, the future of students, and the safety of students. He believed that teaching and learning should complement each other, and we should always pay attention to the ideological, academic, psychological and social problems of contemporary college students. At the third meeting, President Li expressed his views on ‘two things to do as a teacher’, from ‘teaching children truth, goodness and beauty’ and ‘teaching children independent thinking and choice’. He believed that the ability of truth, goodness and beauty, independent thinking and choice is extremely important for children's personality development and quality education.

We believe that with the gradual improvement and development of the construction of the head teacher team in the school of economics, the quality and appearance of students will be further improved as well as the quality of student training.
